Fun In Florida

We spent last week in Florida.
It took 3 full days for my body to thaw out.

Has this been the coldest winter ever?
I think so.

It was wonderful to spend time with our parents.
They spoiled us rotten!
We are so blessed.

They realize that good seafood is hard to come by in Kansas.
One evening,
Marks parents served us huge scrumptious crab legs.
Is that one word or two?
I don't feel like looking it up.
It seems like it's one word but my computer
keeps changing it so I'm going to give in and leave it.
Back to the meal...
to die for!

My parents,
unaware of our crab-leg fortune,
prepared us a lobster dinner that would make you
wanna slap someone.
It was in heaven!

I was able to spend some precious moments with D, D & my amazing grandkids.
We read books, rode horses, played ball, colored, sang songs and played games.

I can't remember the name of this game but the person wearing the card has to ask "yes, no or maybe" questions
and try to guess the character the card reveals.
Entertaining doesn't begin to describe the laughter
shared during this game!
It was so fun and the best laughs were provided by the youngest of participants.

Abi & I had fun playing at the park one morning
while the big kids were in school.

The weather warmed up enough to give the horses a bath
before the big show this weekend.

I must share one more picture with you.
It's one of those memories that needs to be documented.
Abi asked her 5 year old sister to give her a haircut.
In a few weeks,
we will have bangs.

I hope you are having a great day!
We are hitting the road tonight
to head to San Antonio, TX.

It's my baby girls birthday
& I have presents!!

Gonna be a great weekend!

The City That Never Sleeps

I don't know if you know this about my husband or not
but he has a track record of finding out the "must-see's"
wherever we go in life.

He missed a flight one time because he thought he had enough time between flights to rent a car and drive over to see Niagara Falls and get back to make his connection.
The story ends well because he loved it so much that he made arrangements to take me later that year.

While on business this past month
he decided we needed to take the weekend
and hop over to
New York City.
Is there anything better than NY on Valentines Day?

The city that never sleeps did not disappoint.

We stayed a block from Time Square.
It was blistery cold and snowy.
We bundled up, held hands
and walked through this amazing city.
So romantic!

We went to see Les Misérables.

We had our rented car and he drove through the city like a pro.
I prayed and took pictures.

There was a skating rink near our hotel where the locals skated.
Do you recognize that tall red building in the background?

You got it!
The Empire State Building.
I was looking for a big heart
like in Sleepless In Seattle.
It was our view right out our hotel window.
We slept with the curtain opened so I could enjoy it.
Sometime in the night,
it was turned off.

We made precious memories
walking hand in hand.
I am blessed with the sweetest husband,
who makes my life
a constant adventure.

Must you grow up so quickly?

You sure know how to make me smile.

So sweet!

I love being your MiMi!

Playing In New Jersey

Happy Valentines Day to You!

I'm in New Jersey.
Mark is here on business and I tagged along.
We are staying in Fairway Villas and I could just live here.
Each villa has two bedrooms, a living room, full kitchen, hot tub and laundry room.

We are driving to Manhattan in the morning for the weekend.
I love NY but I haven't done the city
in these extreme freezing temperatures.

Who cares!?
I'm just thrilled to be with the one whom my soul loves.

Mark & I don't care where we are, we just want to be together.
We are best friends. He is always there for me.
He tries to please me every minute of my day.
I really don't deserve him.  He makes me feel safe.
Sometimes I feel like a loser because I don't contribute financially and have a job.
He always encourages me and says, "You don't need a job."
He knows I need to fly to my family, kids, grandkids,
and girlfriends often and a job would get in the way of that.
I can be hard on myself if I don't fix dinner sometimes.
He will walk in from work and say "where do ya wanna go out?" or "I will fix something."
He sat in the car today while I got a manicure.
See how blessed I am!
He prays for me.
That is probably my favorite thing about him.

Enough about how blessed I am...

Are you doing anything special for V-day?
I love any opportunity to tell those I love that I just adore them so...
I ADORE YOU! I really do.
I wish I could send each of you a box of chocolates.

Hope all is well with you and yours,

XXOOXXOO

Key To My Heart

Wedding Fun

I flew to Florida last week to watch Katie & Chase exchange wedding vows.

From the festivities of the week to the officiate who led the ceremony to the reception,
every detail was carried out with precision.

I was in awe at the "Grace Kelly" style that was carried out even through what the guests chose to wear.

Brenda, Paula and I were privileged to help our friend Kim, who was the MOG (mother of the groom) with the rehearsal dinner.

The combination of being with dear friends,
celebrating a beautiful couple and being able to decorate
made for the perfect weekend.

The venue was in a beautiful old church
in downtown Jacksonville.
This church really didn't require much decorating,
with it's high arched ceiling and plenty of gorgeous stain glass,
it was the perfect location.

The theme...
 a rustic, winter-wonderland.

Kim purchased deer, pheasants, & other animals in which she sprayed silver.
Old oil lanterns were added to each table.
Galvanized buckets on the tables with navy napkins for drumettes to tide everyone over until dinner began.

I do love a party and this one was
most enjoyable.
I especially adore this sweet couple.

Congratulations Katie & Chase!
