Happy Days

Where does the time go?
Seems like forever that I sat down to share with you.

The weather has been glorious in Kansas.
The Spring colors are breath-taking this year.
I feel like everywhere I turn, God speaks and says,
"Hey, Wendy, look at this one."
He thrills me with all the colors.

Impressive.

Sorry it's fuzzy.
I was going downhill on my bike.
When you have the opportunity to finally go downhill,
you don't stop to take a picture.
You just don't.

These are in the Walmart parking lot.

I have been taking advantage of the amazing bike trails
offered in Kansas.

I could ride forever,
if someone would come pick me up :)
I rode about 13 miles a couple times this week.
Some of the hills are a challenge
but I'm getting better.

I have been getting more acquainted with my embroidery machine.

I love all the fun I am having with it.

Of course,
I have a family picture to share.

Dani Mae wanted her hair curled like her doll, Caroline.
Pure sweetness.

Here is a great family shot from the ball park.

Oh how I love them!

Hope you are having a happy day!

The Great Wolf Lodge

We spent two amazing days at The Great Wolf Lodge.
This all-inclusive hotel offers so many options
to keep the kids busy and happy.

The main attraction is the water park.
While the weather is still cool outside,
this provides a great opportunity to play in the water.

Several water slides for kids of all ages.

The hot tub was perfect to warm up.

The lazy river is always fun.

Here's Kacey zooming out of the slide tunnel.

Abi is looking at the bucket spill over.

A close second in popularity is the Magi Quest game.

The game is basically a souped up scavenger hunt
that is played throughout the whole hotel.

Eli & Kacey both had a wand.

Elijah recruited Pops.
It was obvious that he was having as much fun as them.

This was Elijah's second year and he advanced quite well.

Here he is checking his score.
Yeah Elijah!
There are people quite older than him playing this adventure.

Kacey was scoring well also.

Dani & Abi chose to get a
little pampering at Scoops.

They are such girly girls.

The hotel schedules games and fun activities all throughout the day.

Karaoke anyone?

Balloon animal fun.

Who doesn't love a glitter tattoo!

Two fun filled days
and four happy yungins
make for two happy grandparents.

Easter Pictures

We made precious memories
all week with Daniel & Danielle and the kids.
I kept reminding myself to enjoy every minute
because I knew it would be over way too soon.

Before they headed home,
Danielle and I wanted to get some pictures
of the kids in their Easter outfits.

We started with the hope of getting 1 good group picture.
Sounds easy enough.

Yeah, not so much.

The best shots turned out to be solo pictures.

Abi loved her twirly dress.

Dani looks so sweet in her blue dress.

Kacey is growing up too quickly for this MiMi.
She is wearing my pearls and looks like a little southern belle.

 I love this happy boy.

He has the best personality.
I am pondering the fact that he beat me
(more than a few times)
in a couple card games we played.
Turkey!

Oh well,
Happy Easter!

And My Heart Sings

I wrote this blog last week.
I was so excited that I forgot to post it.
Duh.

Do you hear at the music?
It's flowing from me.
Why is my heart singing?
I'm glad you asked.

My kids are on their way to see me.
They will be here soon.

Hurry up and get here!

Like all good MiMi's,
I made the grandkids a basket filled with treasures.

I made D & D a basket filled with goodies also.

I have yummy junk food scattered everywhere.
It's a MiMi's right.

Just so ya know,
I did get lots of fruit and veggies to
munch on through the week too.

I made the lamb cake.
Maybe the eyes should be pink?
I don't know but he's kinda scary to me.
He will taste good.

I borrowed these flowers from my bedroom.
I needed something bright for the table.

I wired some sticks together to form crosses and stuck them in a planter with some flowers.
I am hoping the flowers grow.

We have a "to-do" list with oodles of possible things
to do while they are here but most of all,
I plan to hug and kiss and spend lots
of precious moments together.

Container Garden

The weather has been glorious.
The budding trees & chirping birds
seem to call me out doors.
Mark and I decided to plant a small garden.

Yes, it is too early.
Truth is,
I've never been good at following rules.

Mark just announced it's supposed
to be in the 30's in a few days.
Oh boy.

I have decided to do a container garden.
If you look online,
you can see so many options.
Here are a few I grabbed off google images.

This last photo is like mine.
I actually got two and may need to get one more.
I planted tomatoes and cabbage in one of mine.
I will be thrilled if it looks like this in a couple months.

The containers are elevated so my back is thankful.
Kansas has lots of rabbits so this will hopefully keep
them from eating my veggies.

I am thrilled to get my hands in the dirt.
I love the feeling the warm sun on my white self.

Now, do I go upstairs and embroider?
Do I walk out the door and work in the garden?
Decisions, decisions.

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

My prayer for you today...

"The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face
shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face
toward you
and give you peace."

Numbers 6:24-26

My New Toy

I got a new toy!
Mark bought me an embroidery machine.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhh! That's my happy scream.

I have been wanting one for awhile and couldn't decide.
The one I chose is simple and perfect for what I want to do.

I'm like a kid at Christmas.
Can't sleep and when I do,
I wake up thinking about what can I embroider next.
I've stitched on all the fabric, pillowcases,
& hand towels I own.
Nothing is safe.
Practice makes perfect.

I chose the Brothers SE400.

I am amazed how easy this machine is.
It is dummy proof.
It threads itself.

Do you embroider?
If so, I would love any advice.

I am thrilled with my new toy.
Oh the possibilities!
